...I'm nervous...

Well, Sunday I went to get my eyes tested for the first time ever (except at the BMV but according to the doctor who checked my eyes...that doesn't count). We can all thank Brion for making me go, lol. Honestly, I really didn't want to go for a few reasons 1. I really didn't want glasses; 2. I hate eye drops; 3. I didn't know what to expect But all in all, it wasn't that bad...besides the 4 puffs of air because I move too much and the 4 eye drops to take away my ability to focus and dialation. Overall outcome...I have 20/20 vision but things are a little blurry and I can't seem to focus easily...I should technically wear some glasses but it was such a small perscription that the doctor let me decide if I even wanted them...so I said no! Yea! I have to go back in 2 years though.

Today I conquered a fear of mine...giving blood. I've never given blood even though I've made about 5 attempts, I just never go through with it. But, with Brion by my side I did it! I've always wanted to do it since my Grandpa had to have 3 emergency blood transfusions. The really nice nurse even let Brion sit on the couch next to my table and hold my hand. Funny thing - the average person donates a pint in about 30 minutes, my sister takes about 1 hour...it only took me...a grand total of 7.5 minutes! Lol, it just flowed right out. Overall, not a bad experience. I would do it again.

Chuggin right along!

Well today I finished the final lesson of my portfolio!!!!!! Only thing is, that was the easy part. Lol, the 2 hard parts were the coming up with the entire contiguous unit of 5 lesson plans and doing all the reflective and informational writing. So only thing left is all the wrting! I can't turn it in until November 1 anyway so I'm ahead of the game for sure. Most people don't even start theirs until after Christmas. I just can't wait to be done with it and to turn it in!!!!!

I'm not going to do it...

I'm so incredibly sick and tired of hearing that statement. School this year has started yet another new policy in the middle of the school year. Students are now required to wear a lanyard with their student ID card around their neck all day during the school day...you would think we're committing murder! Lol. Yeah, I may not agree with the rule (make them wear them at lunch or something only) but I have to follow it. Not only that but there aren't any consequences set forth for failing to wear one. So...I asked permission and I have made it a temporary class rule - no lanyard = 30 minutes detetion. I'm tired of dealing with it already and it's only been 2 days! Oh, and I think I'm the only teacher enforcing the rule, lol.

Oh and how ridicously hard is it to wear safety goggles? I mean seriously, I need to record my self saying "Guys, put your goggles on your eyes, not on your neck, not on your forhead, and not on the lab table!" How hard is that? Yeah they're funny looking but get over it! I had to in school and so does everyone else!!!!

On that note, I am also tired of saying, "you need to put another shirt on (or you'll be flashing everyone) and you need to pull your pants up (or you'll be mooning everyone" oh, and just for the record, "I'm wearing shorts" isn't going to change the fact that your pants are below your butt!

On a positive note, lol, I'm going to J. Alexanders for dinner tonight on date night, lol. And I get to go to Holiday World tomorrow. So I guess I'm free from saying the aforementioned things for 2.5 days...thank God because I may loose my sanity.
